How fair is this with our veterans, the people who have defended this country and put their lives on the line, to be left behind?
ABC World News reported last night on the "outrage...when it was learned that officials of the VA received millions of dollars in bonuses this past year. ... It was hardly a banner year for the VA. Budget problems, management problems, and mistreatment of wounded veterans. Problems so great, the President appointed a high-profile commission to clean up the mess. So, how did the VA deal with it? For one, it doled out big bonuses to senior executives. $3.8 million worth of bonuses last year. ... The average bonus for VA executives was nearly $17,000, the highest of any federal agency. Ten VA executives received bonuses of $30,000 or more."
